LESSON 1: PRESENT CONTINUOUS (HIỆN TẠI TIẾP
DIỄN)
1. Cách thành lập
- Câu khẳng định: S + tobe (is/am/are) +
V-ing.
Khi động từ tận cùng là “e” thì bỏ “e” rồi
thêm “ing”.
Ex: write -> writing, Take -> taking
Khi động từ tận cùng là “ie” thì đổi “ie”
thành “y” rồi thêm “ing.
Ex: lie -> lying
Khi đồng từ tận cùng trước đó là nguyên âm
thì gấp đôi phụ âm rồi thêm “ing”.
Ex. Swim -> Swimming, ski -> skiing,
shop -> shopping
- Câu phủ định: S + tobe (is/am/are) + not +
V-ing.
- Câu nghi vấn: Tobe (is/am/are) + S
+ V-ing ?

2. Cách dùng và dấu hiệu (Usage and signal)
- Diện tả một hành đang diễn ra trong lúc nói (at
the moment, at the present, now, right now, for the time being now)
Ex: You are using the Internet at the moment. She
is sweeping the floor. Lan is swimming in the river
- Diễn tả một hành động đang diễn ra trong suốt
khoảng thời gian hoặc một xu hướng
Ex: Are you still working for Trung Nam Wind
power plant company?. More and more people are using English as a second
language.
- Diễn tả một hành động hoặc sự kiện trong
tương lai đã được lên kế hoạch thực hiện hoặc chuẩn bị sẵn.
Ex: We are going to Ha Noi tomorrow
morning. I am seeing a movie tonight.
Ex: He usually plays the drums, but he's
playing the guitar tonight.
Ex: He always drink coffee, but today he
is not drinking it
- Diễn tả sự than phiền "always,
forever, constantly",
Ex: Harry and Sally are always
arguing! You're constantly complaining about your
mother-in-law!
** Các động từ không được sử dụng để chia thì
tiếp diễn:
+ Cảm xúc: feel, hear, see, smell, taste;
+ Ý kiến: believe, consider, doubt, find,
think
+ Trạng thái: know, forget, imagine, mean,
recognize, remember, understand
+ Cảm xúc: hope, wish, want, like, dislike,
fear, regret, love, hate, look, seem
